Traveling Cape Breton Island is entertaining, exciting and educative. The attractions, historic destinations, museums, etc are among the numerous exciting places to visit in the island. There are several cultural destinations in Cape Breton Island and Glace Bay’s Savoy Theater is one of them. This is a Victorian-style theater where local and international performances take place. Performances in the theater range from classical music to ballet. Other places where a traveler can watch exciting performance are Octagon Arts Center and Celtic Music Interpretive Center.

 

Among the numerous places to visit in Cape Breton Island, the museums are excellent highlights. Each and every museum in the island gives an opportunity to the traveler to learn about the diversity of the island.

 

People can visit The Mother of Sorrows Pioneer Shrine, anytime during the year. This museum is dedicated to Lady of Sorrows and pioneers of the Mabou area. The MacDonald House Museum is another highlight of the island. Earlier, the farmers throughout Eastern Canada got the supply of necessary items through this building.

 

Amid the beauty of Valleys Natural Landscape and Skye River Hills, the 52.5 hectares MacFarlane Woods Nature Reserve is positioned. Surrounded with hardwood trees, the folded sedimentary rock hills rise above the sea level up to 160 meters.

 

Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site is located in Baddeck. This museum focuses on the career and life of Alexander Graham Bell. You can find his valued documents and artifacts here in this museum.

 

Ceiligh Trail is a long trail covering 67 miles. From here you can enjoy tremendous views of rolling farmlands, inlets, bays and coastline.

 

Cape Breton Highlands National Park, which is located in Ingonish, is a premier attraction. Loads of wildlife, rigged cliffs and historical significance attract people of all ages.
